Hedge Fund Internship Program: Capital Markets Analyst Intern (2025-2026) HYBRID Internship (Paid)

Expected start date:   May 5, 2025
 

FJ Capital Management (FJ) is a growing asset management firm (~$1 billion assets under management) based in McLean, Virginia that manages investment funds and separate accounts in equity securities of bank and non- bank financial service companies.
 

This One Year Internship Program is designed to fully immerse interns in the investment management industry and the responsibilities and functions of a hedge fund analyst. Interns report primarily to Analyst, and work tangentially with the Portfolio Manager, the Chief Operating Officer, and other members of the Investment Team. Interns will receive comprehensive, professional, and educational experience through on-the-job learning and practice while working alongside team members.

Internship Responsibilities:
· Conduct financial research on banking institutions using FJ models and third-party databases.
· Create and maintain financial models in Excel to help value and price transactions.
· Update and create presentation slides in PowerPoint.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly fund performance reports for investors.
· Perform select, ad-hoc office management projects.
 

Qualifications Required:
· Master’s program in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
· 1-2 years of related work/internship experience
 

Competencies Required:
· Advanced Excel skills: strong analytical and numerical skills.
· Advanced Microsoft Word and Power Point skills.
· Self-motivated, results-driven, and performs well under pressure.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team on multiple tasks.
