
District Office Intern
The Office of Senator Ted Budd offers internship opportunities in the Washington, D.C. office and the Advance, Asheville, and Wilmington, North Carolina offices throughout the year. Internships provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the role it plays in the lives of millions of North Carolinians.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants are generally college students from the State of North Carolina with an interest in government and public policy. Interested students from all majors are encouraged to apply; however, preference is given to upperclassmen studying political science, economics, and international relations. International students are ineligible.

District of Columbia Internship Experience
Our interns in Washington, D.C., are responsible for maintaining the front office and greeting visitors, fulfilling constituent tour and flag requests, assisting the legislative team with writing and research projects when necessary, processing constituent mail, phone calls, and logging constituent opinions.
North Carolina Internship Experience
During your time in Senator Budd’s state offices, you will assist staff as they resolve constituent issues with federal agencies, work on research projects, and travel locally with staff to some outreach visits. The primary responsibilities of interns include triaging the phones, handling the mail, and helping staff members with various projects. Some interns will be asked to help write constituent correspondence and aid the Regional Directors with outreach.
