About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Social Media Content Creator Intern. This role offers hands-on experience in shaping our digital presence, creating engaging content, and contributing to our mission-driven organization. Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic about non-profits, digital media, and storytelling that inspires action.
This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development: Collaborate with the team to create content concepts, including posts, stories, and videos.
- Content Management: Maintain and schedule posts across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) using tools like Hootsuite.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze metrics and provide insights to refine strategies using tools like Google Analytics.
- Audience Engagement: Represent the organization by responding to comments and messages.
- Visual Creation: Assist in creating visuals using tools like Canva or Photoshop.
- Campaign Support: Aid in developing campaigns, such as awareness or fundraising efforts.
- Reporting: Present insights to the team for strategy adjustments.
- Trend Awareness: Stay updated on digital trends and suggest innovative ideas.
- Cross-Promotion: Ensure consistent messaging by coordinating with other departments.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in or have recently graduated with at least a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field of study from an accredited institution.
- Prior professional and/or internship experience in another Non-profit organization(s)
- Hands-on experience with social media platforms and tools.
- Strong writing, communication, and content creation skills (a portfolio will be viewed favorably).
- Basic design skills and passion for non-profits.
- Self-motivation, creativity, and organizational skills.
Time Commitment :
- Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week .
- Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
- Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesday 9am - 10am PST
- Weekly Department Meeting: Thursdays - Development Department Meeting 1pm - 2pm PST.
- Flexibility to attend additional department meetings to further understand what we do as an organization.
Must be able to commit to the internship program for 6-months or 1-year
