Anatomical Research Specialist

This position offers opportunities to contribute to research, with potential co-authorship on peer-reviewed scientific publications, while developing a diverse set of laboratory skills. This position involves work with human anatomical donors.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field (or expected to graduate soon)
- Motivation to contribute to scientific research
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly
- Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening hours when needed (compensated at a higher rate)
- Able to travel occasionally for off-site work (possibly up to a couple of times a year, which would be compensated at a higher rate)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid Driver's License
Helpful, but not required:
- Neuroscience experience
- Microscopy experience
- Anatomical experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform anatomical research procedures and laboratory work
- Perform careful transport and respectful handling of anatomical donors
- Perform administrative duties, including phone calls to donors and their families
- Perform cleaning responsibilities, including disinfecting workspaces
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols
- Contribute to scientific paper writing
- Independently manage time
- Maintain confidentiality
Benefits include very good medical and dental insurance, 401k with match, paid holidays and paid time off (vacation or sick time). Wage for this position starts at $22-24/hr depending on experience, 40 hours/week.
