Communications Intern

Reports To: Marketing & Communications Manager 

Department Head: Marketing & Communications Director 

 

Position Overview:
The Communications Intern will support the Marketing and Communications team by managing key digital platforms, including website updates, the KIPP ATL mobile app, and the KIPP ATL Apparel site. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the KIPP Atlanta Schools website to ensure content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with the organization's branding.
  • Manage updates and content uploads for the KIPP ATL mobile app to enhance the user experience for families and staff.
  • Oversee the KIPP ATL Apparel site, including uploading new products, managing inventory, and coordinating promotions.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to ensure all digital platforms support organizational priorities and messaging.
  • Assist with drafting, editing, and scheduling email communications and announcements.
  • Monitor analytics across digital platforms to track engagement and recommend improvements.


 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or similar).
  • Familiarity with mobile app platforms and e-commerce tools.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and grammar.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to KIPP Atlanta Schools' mission.


 

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML or CSS.
  • Experience with tools like Mailchimp or Constant Contact for email campaigns.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for creating digital assets.
  • Understanding of analytics tools like Google Analytics or platform-specific insights.

Work Schedule and Compensation:
