Store Experience Design Intern
As a Store Experience Design Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in retail store design, working alongside a team of designers and cross-functional partners to bring innovative, customer-focused environments to life. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects, develop design skills, and learn how strategic design decisions impact the overall brand experience. In addition, you’ll participate in a summer series that includes our executive speaker events, Excel and PowerPoint workshops, and personal and professional development sessions.
This internship runs from June to August 2025. This role is hybrid, meaning you’ll be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Housing and transportation will not be provided.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in creating and refining design presentations, floorplans, and renderings.
- Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings.
- Conduct research on trends in retail design.
- Collaborate with internal teams on design documentation.
- Create, organize, and maintain design assets and project files.
- Support team members with ad hoc design tasks, 3-D modeling, space planning, and visualization projects as needed.
- Prototype drawing/detail creation
Basic Qualifications
- Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2025 and spring 2028
- Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/2/2025- 8/8/2025
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM – 5 PM
- Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus - 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
- Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Strong interest in retail design, brand storytelling, and customer experience
- Experience in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to take directions, work independently, and bring creative solutions to challenges
- Basic understanding of materials, fixtures, furniture, lighting, and space planning
