Beyond Boundaries Adventure Intern

Gain experience working in the outdoor adventure industry while also donating your time in a meaningful way to a local nonprofit organization!

The ideal candidate for the Beyond Boundaries Adventure Intern is someone who is adaptable, personable, hard-working, driven, and positive, and who understands and values BB’s mission to make outdoor adventure accessible to everyone. Selected candidates will be expected to assist in facilitating any number of Beyond Boundaries adventures alongside our Program Director and Program Coordinator. Skills Gained

  • Hiking, biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, pontooning, and fishing
  • Assist in managing volunteers & participants, coordinating programs, working on set-up and take-down of events, and working closely with the Beyond Boundaries program director & coordinator
  • Gain First Aid/CPR skills & certifications if you don’t already have them
  • Disability Inclusion Training program
  • Run successful outdoor adventure programs
  • Improve problem-solving skills, build confidence, and take on greater leadership roles as the internship progresses
  • Hone communication skills in both small and large group settings

We are looking for someone who is currently studying or pursuing a career in outdoor
education/adventure and/or working with people with disabilities & underserved populations, passionate about increasing accessibility in outdoor adventure spaces, and who has outdoor adventure experience (e.g. rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Great interpersonal & communication skills
  • Passion for working with people of all abilities

What to Expect

  • Working directly with the Beyond Boundaries Program Director & Program Coordinator
  • Being responsible for assisting in program set-up and take-down
  • Internships can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the
    number of hours required by a student’s university program
  • Interns will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the BB main office
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff, participants, and volunteers at all times
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Beyond Boundaries
