Location:

Bentonville, Arkansas; in-office 4 days/week August to May.

About You:

You have a strong foundation in accounting and have developed skills in programming and data analysis through your education, internships, or self-directed learning. You are eager to learn and grow, with a drive to tackle complex challenges in a fast-moving environment. We are not looking for specific degrees or years of experience, but we will only hire skilled individuals who are also great colleagues. Be ready to provide concrete examples of your technical abilities and for a case study.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Fund Accountant to support the investment operations of our fund. You will help process payments, maintain the firm’s financial books and records, and provide timely reporting, while working alongside experienced accountants and programmers to automate accounting tasks where possible. The more functions with which you are familiar, the better; but even if you’re an expert in just one key area, don’t hesitate to apply. Your accounting knowledge, trustworthiness, and attention to detail will be what truly matters at SymBiosis.

  • Accounting: You have a strong understanding of accounting—both in general, and specifically as applied to investment funds and management companies—and can quickly and accurately record transactions and maintain the financial books and records of the firm. Can be relied upon to handle repetitive or tedious tasks with accuracy and diligence.
  • Cash Management: You are honest, trustworthy, accurate, and timely in paying invoices, running payroll, and entering wire transfers.
  • Reporting: You are a good listener, who can translate business objectives into clear, concise, and timely standard and custom reports (e.g., daily positions and cash, weekly trading commissions, monthly budget vs. actual expenses, liquidity planning, investment performance, etc.) that help various users at SymBiosis make data-driven decisions and keep our clients informed.
  • Automation: You can use at least one programming language (e.g., Python, VBA) to automate accounting tasks.
