Position Summary

A fast-paced and experience-rich role, this internship will give the right individual an opportunity to gain broad exposure to numerous marketing activities and mediums. The Marketing & Communications Intern will have a rare opportunity to move from concept to execution, and gain valuable experience that could position them within Moors & Cabot and the broader Financial Services industry.

 

Role Description

The Moors & Cabot Summer Internship Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the Financial Services industry. This summer will be filled with meaningful work experiences, networking, professional development, and engaging firm-sponsored events. You'll have the opportunity to work with senior leaders and have unparalleled mentorship while supporting company-wide initiatives. At the conclusion of the program, you will present on projects accomplished and key learning takeaways to your peers and other team members of Moors & Cabot.

This full-time role reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager based out of our Boston Headquarters. Working hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST on a hybrid schedule: at least 3 days in office and up to 2 days remote.

The Moors & Cabot Summer Internship Program begins June 2 and is a 12-week program. Based on candidates, the Internship Program can be shortened to fit school or personal accommodations.

 

Role Responsibilities

Advertising

  • Develop and deploy Brand Awareness Campaigns, including social media advertisements
  • Analyze campaign results and suggest refinements to targeting criteria and/or messaging
  • Assist in social media efforts with new ideas and suggestions to enhance effectiveness
  • Assist with drafting communication and presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Support the creation of marketing assets which provide a differentiated benefit

AI & Automation

  • Analyze under-utilized HubSpot capabilities, particularly in areas of AI campaign management, lead follow-up and automated replies
  • Develop HubSpot workflows adding scale and automation to marketing outreach efforts
  • Cross-collaborate with IT and Compliance departments on AI project work

Market and Competitive Research

  • Analyze competitor tactics, aesthetics and messaging in M&C local markets
  • Proposed/Recommend tactical initiatives across digital channels

Hands-On Creative Development

  • Gain exposure to a breadth of creative development activities, from image and video editing, to financial literacy content in support of advisor relationship management
  • Help with the creation and design of new email and presentation templates
  • Write and edit official communications and templates for online and print distribution and validate with compliance officers
  • Coordinate and support client events on behalf of advisors and the firm
  • Continually report status and take direction from marketing leadership

  • Satisfaction of Financial Advisors in support of their business

Minimum Requirements

  • A rising senior currently pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited university
    • Concentration within Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field
  • Familiarity with email campaign platforms
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Creative, highly professional, and detail-oriented persona
  • Introductory experience in a subset of the following marketing delivery skills:
    • Development of internal and external written marketing collateral
    • Digital marketing content/website development
    • Basic banner advertising development (e.g., animated gif)
    • Basic digital video creation (e.g., Short Video/Vignettes, Adobe Premier, Clip Cropping/Stitching)
    • Fundamental graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, cropping/retouching)
    • Layout design, document template development, enhancing/adhering to brand guidelines
    • Social Media advertising (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Google, YouTube)
    • Traffic/Click measurement and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook, LinkedIn)

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with HubSpot, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Canva, Wix
  • Experience executing social media or marketing campaigns for a business or organization

 

Compensation & Benefits 

  • This position has an hourly rate of $22.00
