JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the legal team in performing various research projects as assigned for the benefit of internal and external customers in a manner consistent with company objectives. Projects will include issue analysis, legal research, drafting memos, and assisting staff with projects requiring a quick turnaround.

- Research and apply policy language, statutes, regulations, common law, and other applicable legal and risk management concepts to effectively and efficiently accomplish routine corporate and insurance-related projects.
- Assist with the development and communication of legal information to internal and external customers.
- Provide timely status reports concerning assigned projects to management and others as appropriate.
- Participate in and provide input at meetings involving collective decision-making, and contributing as requested to departmental or interdepartmental projects or processes.
- Accomplish various other duties and projects as assigned.

- Must possess analytical and legal drafting skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with others (both orally and in writing).

- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and manage deadlines.

- Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
- Understanding of Lexis is a plus.
- Mandatory computer/technology skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Active pursuit of Juris Doctorate with at least two semesters already completed.
- GPA of 3.0 or better is desired.
