College Counselor (Bilingual Mandarin)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly proactive, service-oriented, and detail-driven College Counselor to support students in their academic and extracurricular planning, ensuring a well-structured study abroad application process. This role involves guiding students in selecting activities, registering for competitions, tracking their progress, and maintaining effective communication with both students and parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Planning & Support
  • Develop personalized study plans for students based on their academic and extracurricular profiles.
  • Monitor students’ academic progress and provide strategic guidance for improvement.
  • Activity & Competition Coordination
  • Research, recommend, and assist students in enrolling in competitions and extracurricular activities that enhance their college applications.
  • Follow up on students’ participation and ensure activities align with their study abroad goals.
  • U.S. College Application Guidance
  • Assist students in managing application timelines, preparing documents, and refining personal statements/essays.
  • Ensure students stay on track with their application process and provide regular updates to parents.
  • Communication & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students and parents, offering professional guidance and support.
  • Provide regular progress reports to parents and ensure alignment with their expectations.

Candidate Requirements

Preferred backgrounds:

  • Experience in U.S College application counseling particularly in U.S. undergraduate admissions.
  • Strong client service skills and a relationship-building mindset.
  • Personal experience applying to U.S. colleges, demonstrating familiarity with the admissions process.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of U.S. high school and undergraduate admission systems.
  • Experience guiding students through extracurricular planning and competition selection.
