Position Overview
Are you a college student or recent graduate eager to start a career in project management within the construction industry? We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will gain practical project management experience, working closely with General Contractors to ensure timely and efficient installation of our commercial glass and glazing systems. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where you can develop essential skills and grow your professional network.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with General Contractors and internal teams to plan and execute glass and glazing installations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for projects; provide regular status updates and address any issues or changes in project scope.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Assist in developing project timelines, monitoring progress, and coordinating labor and materials to meet deadlines.
- Budget Management: Support the project team in tracking costs, managing invoices, and controlling expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project documentation (e.g., contracts, change orders, and correspondence)
- Problem-Solving: Identify project risks and challenges early on, propose solutions, and escalate issues to senior management when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of project management principles and standard construction practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore) is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, General Contractors, and clients.
- Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Initiative: Eagerness to learn and contribute new ideas. Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and establish good working relationships with colleagues and partners.
