JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a desire in developing their skills in financial reporting and analysis that provides opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
This role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting administrative tasks such as not limited to data entry, reconciling bank statements, processing accounts payable, receivable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting preparation of financial reports while ensuring all accounting standards and regulations are in compliance for multiple construction business units.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Records all necessary financial transactions on a daily basis by entering them into applicable accounting software accurately. Ensure the allocation of expenditures are applied to the correct accounts in accordance procedures.
- Maintains accurate, detailed and organized financial records, ensuring properly documented and filed.
- Prepares, reviews and generates any accounting statements and/or financial statements to ensure transactions matches the general ledger. Identifying discrepancies and perform reconciliations as necessary, reporting differences or issues immediately.
- Administers invoice payment process by reviewing each invoice for accuracy before payment and then process payments in a timely manner.
- Oversees the accounts payable and receivable processes to include such tasks as sending customer invoices and following up on outstanding payments.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements by compiling data for balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Collaborates accordingly to gather and organize documentation for internal and external audits. Provide assistance with audit procedures by producing any necessary information and explanation.
- Adheres to established accounting principles and company policies and procedures. Ensures compliance regulations with relevant financial tax regulations are met.
- Collaborate with existing new vendors and customers to maintain excellent relationships.
- Provide support as requested or necessary with payroll, audits and/or month-end, year-end activities.
- Responsible for performing other duties and tasks as assigned and/or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant experience in lieu of specific degree, required.
- Previous work experience in construction industry with multiple business units, preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools, preferred.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis, required.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation, required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities, required.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range is based upon the respective level and equitable pay are determined on factors such as but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, ability, experience, education, training, development, supervision, and location.
