Intern, Small Business & Community Development

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assist with initiatives of the Small Business & Community Development Division and implementation of ongoing Harlem CDC services.

 

WORK PERFORMED:

  • Support the administration and tracking of the Community and Economic Revitalization Support Grant Program (CERSP) 
  • Assist in managing Harlem CDC’s web content including all promotional media in collaboration with NYS branding department. 
  • Assist with workshops and training programs under Small Business Services 
  • Support Upper Manhattan based ESD initiatives. 
  • Partner and collaborate with ESD’s Small Business Division and Upper Manhattan based CDFIs, EAP Centers, Chambers, Tourism Divisions and BIDs to provide seamless services to Upper Manhattan Businesses. 
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Strategic Community Initiatives and the Office Manager 
  • Performs other related tasks as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education level required: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in business management, liberal arts or equivalent.

 

Knowledge Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal; knowledge of MS Office:  with excellent Microsoft Word skills required, plus Excel and PowerPoint; excellent follow-up skills.
