Working Job Title: College of Law Human Resources Student Intern
Rate of Pay: $12.00/hour
Approximate Hours per week: 10
The College of Law Human Resources Student Intern will:
- Maintain ePersonnel files in HRIS
- Perform office functions such as filing, scanning, printing, mailing, uploading and organizing documents in SharePoint and Teams
- Edit and format Word documents, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheets
- Occasionally assist with events such as schedule catering and room reservation, assist with set-up and clean-up for catered meals, hang flyers and deliver welcome bags
- Perform data entry
- Assist with creating newsletters
- Create and edit Qualtrics surveys, reports, and org charts
- Assist with Employee Engagement committee events
- Order new staff and faculty name tags
- Respond to employment verification requests
- Attend HR meetings as needed
- Run HR reports and conduct follow up as necessary
- Complete I9’s for new hires
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a student at the University of Iowa
- Ability to complete required job training modules
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and be positive and respectful in working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office package and SharePoint
- Reasonable experience and judgment in handling multiple assignments, conflicting demands or priorities
Desirable Qualification:
- Have an interest or major/minor emphasis in the field of Human Resources
