Public Relations Intern
The Hauser Group in St. Louis is seeking a public relations intern for the summer of 2025.
ABOUT US
The Hauser Group is a small, strategic public relations firm helping clients raise awareness of products, services, initiatives and issues in select states across the country. The firm also works to secure earned media coverage in local, regional and national outlets, as well as targeted national and global trade publications.
JOB OVERVIEW
Interns work closely with the talented team members of The Hauser Group helping to generate results for our clients, gaining insight into the day-to-day activities within a busy public relations agency. Throughout the internship, interns gain hands-on experience essential to launch their careers and build the skills and portfolios that will position them for success. This paid internship is available at The Hauser Group office in west St. Louis County, conveniently located near Manchester Road and I-270.
RESPONSIBILITIES
When it comes to internships, smaller firms often mean bigger responsibilities, and that’s certainly the case with The Hauser Group. Interns become an integral part of the team, doing real work for real clients. On any given day, our interns engage in a variety of activities, including:
- Writing news releases, pitch letters, blog posts and advertising and newsletter copy
- Conducting media follow-up calls to secure placements for clients
- Assisting with the coordination of details for news conferences and other special events
- Creating content calendars, copy and visuals for social media
- Assisting with research projects and reporting
- Developing and updating media lists and helping track client coverage, using the latest industry software
- Participating in strategic brainstorming sessions
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must demonstrate enthusiasm for the communications field, a genuine desire to learn about this industry and confidence that they can begin contributing on day one. We are looking for individuals who are:
- Strong writers with solid verbal communications skills
- Computer proficient and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Working towards a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or another related field (Junior/senior standing preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking and eager to explore a career in this industry
- Able to commit 16 to 20 hours per week (Opportunities for more hours may be considered. Flexible hours available to accommodate class schedules.)
