The Arc Foundation of Monroe is seeking a highly organized, strategic, and mission-driven Strategic Grants and Funding Manager to research, develop, and write compelling grant proposals that secure funding to support The Arc of Monroe’s programs, services, and strategic initiatives. This role will be responsible for identifying new funding opportunities, managing the grants calendar, writing persuasive proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and researcher with a passion for using grants to drive impact. This position plays a critical role in advancing The Arc’s mission by securing essential funding that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full and meaningful lives.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Research & Strategy

  • Identify, research, and evaluate public and private grant opportunities that align with The Arc of Monroe’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and implement a grant strategy that supports program expansion, capital needs, and innovative initiatives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar, tracking deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.

 

 

Grant Writing & Proposal Development

  • Write clear, compelling, and mission-aligned grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder priorities.
  • Develop narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation to create strong, competitive applications.
  • Collaborate with program leaders, finance, and development staff to gather data and articulate funding needs.
  • Tailor grant applications for government agencies, private foundations, and corporate funders.

Grant Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including tracking outcomes, expenditures, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and submit timely grant reports that demonstrate impact and financial accountability.
  • Work closely with finance and program teams to ensure grant funds are used appropriately and effectively.

Relationship Management & Stewardship

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant funders, foundation representatives, and corporate partners.
  • Assist in developing stewardship strategies to keep funders engaged and informed about The Arc’s impact.
  • Represent The Arc at funding-related meetings, webinars, and community engagement opportunities.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in grant writing, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing, research, or nonprofit fundraising.
  • Proven success in securing grants from government agencies, private foundations, and corporate funders.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.
  • Experience with grant databases, prospect research tools, and donor management systems is a plus.
  • A passion for The Arc’s mission and a deep commitment to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, internal equity, and location.
