Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer

Electric Power Systems, Inc. is a unique company offering a wide range of experience and education in the areas of power system operations, transmission and substation design, and generation plant design.  We provide extensive services from feasibility studies, line routing, transmission line design and construction management.

We are currently seeking a senior level Structural or Transmission Design Engineer to lead our team.  This is a full-time position and requires some travel.  Experience utilizing PLS-CADD is required.   You must have knowledge of the NESC code as well as experience in designing transmission lines up to 230 kV.  Alaska professional engineer/registration or the capability of acquiring the registration within 18 months is required.  You will be working or leading our transmission section to perform transmission line design (engineering analysis, route selection, structure spotting, staking sheets, and line design calculations).  Other responsibilities include technical design, project review, development of transmission standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimating, project scheduling, and project management.

EPS has the benefit of having a sister company performing transmission line construction and teams with EPS on design/build projects for transmission lines and substations.  

The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska.  The position will supervise a department of 3 engineers and technicians and prepare the department for expected growth in the next several years.  We do work throughout Alaska, Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest.
