Senior Finance Analyst

Location: Boardman, Oregon 

Job Summary: 

The key role of this position will be to support the Plant finance controller in financial reporting as well as support the Plant in achieving the Annual Operating Plan and the strategic compelling business need for the long-term objectives of the facility. 

The role will primarily support Plant operations in top loss reduction. You will also be responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual financial journal entries, Complete & Accuracy (C&A) in accordance with Internal Audit and GAAP, supporting SOX controls for inventory counting, daily reporting and financial oversite. You will be required to be a member of multiple VeLOCity Pillar teams including Zero Loss Pillar, develop and implement tools and reporting that supports VeLOCity Teams. This role will also be required to lead cross-function teams on assigned SLA Projects to identify plant losses and develop plants to reduce/eliminate those losses. 

This position will be expected to deliver individual projects, lead cross-functional teams and participate in plant projects that result in process improvements for the facility, financial reporting and contribute cost savings against the plant’s annual budget. The senior finance analyst is required to take on significant contributions to the plant annual operating plan (budget) which requires effective communication with plant managers, heavy workload during planning/budget seasons, ability to analyze spending and drive efficient lean supply chain principles through the AOP and daily/weekly/monthly operation of the plant facility. and after graduation

Job Description

  • Financial support for various Plant Pillar departments.
  • Perform monthly reporting and control activities.
  • Develop tools/reports in support of VeLOCity.
  • Provide consolidated fiscal year plan results including recommendations and strategies.
  • Provide effective counsel and analysis to assist Company in meeting the established financial and profit objectives or compelling business need (CBN).
  • Responsible for moderate to complex financial analysis.
  • Finance support for cost savings analysis, allocation, tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare and upload annual financial plans for Supply Chain departments.
  • Plays a key role in the month-end close process to include journal entries, account reconciliations and forecasting.
  • Be a key player on ERP implementation and go forward plans.
  • Support plant operations with Project VeLOCity systems and standards and be a key member of the Zero Loss Analysis (ZLA) Pillar under VeLOCity.
  • Have the ability to manage multi-functional teams to drive out top losses.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in Finance, Accounting and/or other Business Field required.
  • Advanced degree  is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in cost accounting, supply chain finance, data analytics, or other applicable accounting related fields. Experience specialized in food manufacturing is a plus.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of general business concepts.
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate financial information into actionable data and recommendations.
