Essential Job Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a full-time salaried employee designated as their sponsor, the student Intern performs work that is intended to provide relevant experience for a career substantially similar to that of the sponsor. This work should provide ample learn opportunities and should bring value to the company.
- Scope 3 Research Project: Research how industry peers collect Scope 3 emissions data, identify relevant categories for Carrix, and provide recommendations for tools and strategies to start analyzing related data.
- Community Programs: Develop actionable community program ideas aligned with Carrix’s values, leverage existing organization’s programs and identify new opportunities for impactful engagement.
- Reporting Frameworks: Analyze and compare CDP and TCFD frameworks, identify industry best practices and provide actionable recommendations for compliance at Carrix.
- Compliance Review: Conduct review of a state funding and grant opportunities, in addition to port financing programs for the organization’s domestic facilities.
- Other duties and project work as assigned.
Compensation Range
$25.00 - 28.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies or science, sustainability, geography, business, data science or maritime logistics.
- Prior work, internship or project work related to data research and analysis, sustainability or ESG, policy or non-profit, supply chain and/or maritime.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to computer screens.
- Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
