Face Painter for Events

HappyCake Face Painting is looking for a face painter for children and adult events in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our team is based in SF and travels across the Bay to share our joy at various events such as corporate events, music festivals, school events, sporting events, community celebrations, birthday parties, weddings, and more! Events typically range from 2 - 6 hours long and occur mostly on weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Providing face painting entertainment to guests of all ages + managing the line of guests waiting for the services
- Keeping your calendar up to date and communicating any changes in your availability as soon as possible
- Keeping track of your supplies and ordering more when they run out
- Maintaining a clean and professional setup - your station should look presentable and be well-stocked with proper supplies + company-provided business cards and promotional materials
- Cleaning and disinfecting your supplies after each event or workday
- Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Arriving on time - events are time-sensitive environments so it is crucial to arrive with enough time to find parking, get checked in, set up your kit, etc
- Maintaining a clean and professional appearance at every event + dressing for the occasion. Some events are casual and others are more formal and require a specific dress code
- Adhering to client requests for specific materials, dress/appearance, designs, setups, etc
Requirements:
- Experience working with children is required
- Previous experience with face + body painting, makeup, painting, and/or drawing
- Must be available on weekends
- Ability to work multiple events per workday, especially during the busy season
- Must own a car - many of our events are in locations not easily accessible by public transport
- Ability to paint various kinds of designs - guests at events will often request custom designs and some events will have a specific theme that clients expect you to incorporate into your work
- Being able to “go with the flow” of events - there are many different kinds of events and lots of moving parts so flexibility is important!
- Must be comfortable live painting in front of others - this is a performance art!
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to learn fast and incorporate new knowledge quickly
- Commitment to at least one full year of working at events
- Previous experience working at events is a plus

Compensation provided at an hourly rate of $50 - $75 depending on experience.
