Curriculum & Instruction Intern

Job Summary:

The Curriculum & Instruction Intern will assist the Curriculum & Instruction team in creating, evaluating, and improving instructional materials and teaching strategies. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the education field and contribute to the development of curriculum frameworks and instructional support resources. Interns will work closely with teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists to support instructional needs at various educational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and review of educational materials, including lesson plans, unit plans, assessments, and digital resources.
  • Conduct research on educational trends, best practices, and innovative instructional strategies.
  • Participate in the evaluation and analysis of existing curriculum content to ensure alignment with state standards, district goals, and student needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials and resources for teachers and staff development programs.
  • Observe and provide feedback on classroom instruction to ensure effective implementation of curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess the effectiveness of current instructional materials and identify areas for improvement.
  • Help coordinate and support curriculum-related events and professional development workshops for educators.
  • Analyze and summarize data from student assessments and instructional programs to support curriculum revisions.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in educational research, curriculum design, and teaching strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • (Optional) Familiarity with educational technologies and learning management systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with students in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Backward Design).
  • Understanding of state and national educational standards.
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
