As a Health & Wellness Coordinator, you will coordinate various health and wellness programs and initiatives within our organization. Together with the Health & Wellness Director, you will create a positive and inspiring environment that fosters growth and success for our members and staff alike. Serving as a point of contact for our Health & Wellness programs, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our members. Additionally, you will lend a helping hand with Fitness Center duties as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.

Pay Range: $16.00-$18.00 per hour, Depending on experience
How You Will Make an Impact
The member relations aspect of this position requires that relationship building is a top priority at all times. The Health & Wellness Coordinator must attend to the needs, and requests of health seekers, members, and all people associated with the YMCA in a courteous and friendly manner, using the Y voice.
People Management & Leadership
- Assist in auditioning and interviewing Health & Wellness team members.
- Support the training and onboarding of new team members.
- Observe trainers during consultations and provide regular feedback for a seamless and consistent process.
- Collaborate with the director to supervise and develop Fitness Center team members, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure trainers submit paperwork and agreement renewals by specified deadlines.
- Provide leadership and support to all Personal Trainers and Floor Monitors.
- Model and reinforce a positive and inclusive environment for members to pursue healthy living at all fitness levels.
- Set an example by fostering excellent member/guest interactions, contributing to member retention.
- Assist with Annual Giving initiatives and events.
Program Operations & Administrative Support
- Assist with overseeing the quality and delivery of Health & Wellness programs and Y Active programs, addressing member inquiries.
- Support the management of the Floor Monitor schedule.
- Process Personal Training agreements and registrations using Daxko Operations software.
- Confirm the accuracy of paperwork submitted by trainers and ensure appropriate filing.
- Track weekly sessions of trainers and clients using Appointment King software, ensuring accountability.
- Follow up on all Personal Training Consultations to ensure members' needs are met.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure up-to-date program and department information for advertising purposes.
- Lead personal training sessions or group exercise classes, providing professional guidance and support to members in their fitness pursuits.
Facility & Risk Management
- Ensure completion and filing of PAR-Q and medical clearance paperwork for participants in Personal Training and Group Training programs.
- Supervise the upkeep of Fitness Assessment equipment, Biometric Equipment, and Appointment King software.
- Develop and maintain cleaning processes for the Fitness Center and its equipment.
- Address Fitness Center maintenance requests, coordinating necessary equipment repairs or facility maintenance with the Facilities Director or appropriate vendors.
- Report equipment issues to the Facility Director.
- Complete assigned duties as required.
What You Bring to the Y
- A bachelor's degree or a blend of education, professional experience, and training
- Knowledge of member relations system and/or database.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to apply knowledge of accounting and finance basics.
- Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate events with other staff members and volunteers to achieve long-and short-range goals of the Association.
- At least one year of direct supervision experience and Personal Training experience.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Current nationally accredited personal training certification (ACSM, NASM, MSCA, ACE).
- Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training provided by the YMCA must be completed.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the staff member must be able to sustain long periods of active work. Ability to conduct one-on-one training, small or large group classes and activities that last up to an hour or so in duration. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including sitting, talking, typing on a computer, leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting weights or objects of 50-75lbs. safely. (i.e., weights, some light machinery within the fitness center, etc.). Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
