Assistant Program Manager
Description: The Assistant Program Manager collaborates with the Program Management Team to enhance internal and external customer relationships for Racemark. While department managers oversee the performance of their customer programs, this role ensures the organization meets customer needs and expectations. Responsibilities include ensuring customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, profitability, and maintaining quality standards. The role involves using project management tools, under the guidance of Program Managers, to initiate new customer programs and modify existing ones. The Program Management Department oversees a program’s entire lifecycle from nomination to end-of-life.
Main Objectives:
- Coordinate and monitor floor associates, engineering team, and Program Managers during customer program launches.
- Support Production and Program Managers with internal program launch timelines.
- Maintain relationships with the Customer’s launch team from start to finish.
- Support program objectives by working with Program Managers to keep launches on time and within budget.
- Communicate customer requirements and expectations to relevant internal functional areas.
- Ensure customer requests for special services, engineering changes, or other program modifications are properly documented and stored for future reference.
- Maintain detailed program plans, including timelines, roles, responsibilities, and budgets, with the support of the program management team.
- Assist the team with documentation and help resolve risks, problems, and issues that have been identified and escalated appropriately both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of OEM (original equipment manufacturers) or Tier 1 automotive experience preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and other project management tools, or able to learn to use these programs.
- Ability to independently analyze and solve problems with general direction and guidance from management.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and others.
