Assistant Media Planner (West Coast)

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Media Planner, you’ll play a key role in supporting the planning team across the various phases in the media planning & buying process - including plan development, campaign implementation, and maintenance.  This entry-level position is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn about digital and traditional media, and excited to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Research websites, platforms, and trends to help build media recommendations
  • Communicate with media vendors to gather pricing, placement options, and other details
  • Help organize and maintain media vendor contacts and information
  • Assist in reviewing and comparing media proposals
  • Support the team in campaign execution, including preparing media authorizations, insertion orders, trafficking, tracking campaign pacing and optimizations 
  • Ensure ads run correctly and on schedule by verifying campaign delivery
  • Keep track of deadlines and communicate updates to the team, keeping internal and external status documents up to date
  • Work closely with creative teams and clients to ensure ad specs and requirements are met
  • Learn and use media research tools (like MRI) to gather target audience insights to support strategy
  • Assist in preparing reports on campaign performance and competitive analysis 
  • Schedule meetings with media partners and help manage industry resources
  • Stay up to date on media trends and participate in training sessions
  • Collaborate with activation teams (Paid Social, Programmatic, Search) to monitor campaign performance and troubleshoot any challenges

  • A proactive mindset—you're eager to learn, take initiative, and support the team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with teams and external partners
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Prior experience a plus, including internships or relevant coursework in Advertising/Marketing, or Economics/Math/Sciences
  • Love for animals is also a plus!
