Drama Program Teacher
Training and experience in drama: stage presence, exercises, production, etc.

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or completion of Camp Runoia's training program
• Ability to follow and enforce all Camp rules and policies
General Responsibility - to plan, direct and supervise Camp Runoia's drama program, maintaining standards that lead to a safe, quality program.
Specific Responsibility:
1. Teach assisting staff their responsibilities in the drama program during training.
2. Conduct initial, daily, and end-of-season check of equipment/costumes and books for safety, cleanliness, and good repair. Neaten and put away costumes and store equipment for safety.
3. Plan for specific lessons for all ability levels.
4. Make or file for necessary repairs and purchases
5. Oversee daily operations of all drama activities including: writing lesson plans, keeping daily records, following regulations for safety in the drama area. Conduct daily check of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
6. Train and approve a drama assistant to substitute for you in your absence.
7. Plan and work with others during special projects/events, e.g., achievement awards, charts, Fourth of July, Evening Program, etc.
8. Keep costume area organized and clean. Get campers to pick up costumes after using them.
9. Evaluate current season and make suggestions for following season.
10. Conduct written evaluations on campers for drama activity
11. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required by the needs of the Camp.
Essential Functions:
1. Ability to communicate and train staff and campers in safety regulations in the drama area.
2. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to drama and camp activities.
3. Ability to communicate and work with groups participating, and provide necessary instruction to campers and/or staff.
4. Ability to teach a minimum of four classes each day.
5. Abilities to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
6. Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve camper development objectives.
