The Connecticut Department of Correction is recruiting for a Correctional General Maintenance Officer to fill a current vacancy at York Correctional Institution in East Lyme, Connecticut.
The position is full time on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM until 3:00 PM.
Also, please note that this recruitment may be used to fill any upcoming vacancies within the agency in District 3 in Niantic, Uncasville or Brooklyn, Connecticut for the next year.

Position highlights
As a Correctional General Maintenance Officer at York Correctional Institution, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide maintenance of critical systems such as security fence and motorized gates, cell and facility door locs and hardware, and surveillance cameras and infrastructure;
- Supervise assigned inmates at York Correctional Institution;
- Keep a record of tool inventory/control;
- Perform snow and ice removal to maintain safe access for the police, medical, staff and public;
- Protect the health and safety of the public, staff and inmates;
- Maintain mandated compliance with Federal & State statute and agency directives and polices by assuring humane conditions of confinement in the facility through repair and maintenance;
- Other duties as assigned.
Selected candidates will be required to attend a 14-week paid hazardous duty training at the Maloney Center for Training & Staff Development located in Cheshire, Connecticut.
