Summer 2025, Advanced reader design/modeling Internship, (Ph.D. Only)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop integrated spin-transport/micromagnetic models for performance evaluation of prospective NLSV readers.
- Establish SNR scalability with very narrow dimensions and assess technological feasibility to replace MTJ-based readers.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Ph.D. student in physics, electrical engineering or a related field. Strong background on magnetic recording physics and device modeling, with a particular emphasis on spin transport and micromagnetics.
SKILLS
- The ideal candidate would, in addition, have a hands-on experience in developing Finite Element-based micromagnetic codes and a good working knowledge of scripting programming languages such as Python/MATLAB.
