MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) Intern

The Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team at Trailhead Biosystems is looking for a highly motivated intern to assist with cell culture process optimization, quality control assays, and bioreactor maintenance. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in process development, molecular biology techniques, and analytical workflows in a fast-paced biotech environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

Assist with cell culture experiments, ensuring proper aseptic techniques and sterile handling. 

Assist with reconstituting compounds and media preparation. 

Assist with adherent culture and maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). 

Assist with bioreactor culture maintenance, including routine monitoring during process optimization. 

Support Quality Control (QC) activities by performing viability and molecular characterization assays including but not limited to RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, immunocytochemistry (ICC), and Multi-Color Flow Cytometry (Flow). 

Participate in SOP writing, documentation, and compliance with lab safety protocols. 

Qualifications 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field. 

Hands-on experience with qPCR, Flow Cytometry, cDNA synthesis, and cell culture techniques. 

Strong aseptic technique and general lab experience in a biosafety environment. 

Familiarity with bioreactor systems, process development, or Design of Experiments is a plus. 

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for QC and data interpretation. 

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced lab environment.
