BIOLOGICAL AIDE

SEASONAL MAY THROUGH SEPTEMBER
 

Starting pay range: $17.81/hour - $23.39/hour
 

29 Hours per week / May Require Holidays and Weekends

 

 

The State of New Hampshire, Fish and Game Department has a seasonal, (May through September), part time vacancy for bear project Biological Aide.

Summary:
To assist in the implementation of a comprehensive bear/human conflict mitigation program under the direct supervision and guidance of the department's bear project leader. 

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


 Education: Completion of high school, G.E.D. or its equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. 


 Experience: Three years' experience in fisheries or wildlife conservation, commercial fishing, landscaping, carpentry, agriculture, outdoor recreation, or park management, including experience in operating or maintaining equipment.

 

License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver's license. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the agency.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • To assist in outreach and education directed at preventing and resolving bear/human conflicts.
  •  
  • To receive, resolve and document routine bear complaints as requested.

  •  
  • To distribute bear conflict mitigation supplies and equipment and to install electric fencing and scare devices.

  •  
  • To assist in the capture, handling and transport of bears as directed by the bear project leader.

  •  
  • To perform other tasks as assigned by the bear project leader in support of other ongoing wildlife management programs.
