K-12 Curriculum & Assessment Designer (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies) – Part-Time, Remote
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Education, English, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, or a related field
- 2+ years’ experience writing items for statewide or national assessments
- Former K-12 teachers preferred, particularly in English Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies
- Experience aligning content to state educational standards, particularly in Georgia, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
- Ability to think strategically and creatively solve problems
- Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
As a Curriculum & Assessment Designer at Kodely, you will play a crucial role in shaping engaging assessments and learning experiences that support K-12 students. Your expertise in state-aligned content, strong writing skills, and commitment to quality will ensure that Kodely’s curriculum meets the needs of educators and learners across multiple states.
- Write and review clear, engaging assessment items aligned with Georgia, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas state standards in Science, Social Studies, ELA, and Math
- Collaborate with curriculum designers, program managers, and education specialists to develop high-quality, age-appropriate content
- Write achievement level descriptors and other assessment documentation
- Develop and manage project plans to create and deliver assessment items that support personalized learning
- Research and analyze content requirements, including changes in state educational standards and testing frameworks
- Review and edit assessment items to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with state requirements
- Assist with curriculum design projects as assigned, such as developing instructional resources and ensuring consistency across learning materials
What We’re Looking For
- Former K-12 teachers with classroom experience in Science, Social Studies, ELA, or Math
- Strong knowledge of Georgia, California, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas educational standards
- Experience writing and editing assessment items for statewide or national assessments
- Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional design, and best practices in student engagement
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new educational technologies and software tools
- Strong research skills and attention to detail in aligning content to learning standards
- Experience with version control software, learning management systems, or digital curriculum platforms is a plus
