Business Development Representative

Company Overview: Formed in 2023, Nebraska Farmers Network (NFN) is a private network of top farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness leaders working together to protect Nebraska farmland from outside investors. With 45 million acres of farmland across the state, the network is committed to ensuring this land remains locally owned. By purchasing farmland collectively and leasing it back to local farmers within the network, they preserve and defend agricultural land for Nebraska's hardworking farming community. Nebraska Farmers Network addresses the growing issue of outside investors and companies buying up farmland, driving prices higher and pushing out local farmers. They are projecting to capture 15% of Nebraska’s $24 billion agricultural market and aim to expand this model into other Midwest states.
 

Role Overview: The Nebraska Farmers Network is expanding, and with significant ground to cover, they are looking for a hardworking, driven, and passionate Business Development Representative (BDR) to join their team. This role focuses on building relationships with local farmers and ranchers, encouraging them to join the network and invest in the collective effort to protect and preserve Nebraska’s agricultural land.
 

Job Description: 

  • Present investment opportunities to local farmers and ranchers.
  • Travel within a 5-10 county area in Nebraska to meet with farmers and ranchers on-site.
  • No cold calling – all leads are warm to hot, provided through a proprietary referral system.
  • Build trust and long-term relationships, connecting farmers to the Nebraska Farmers Network.
     

Requirements/Ideal Candidate: 

  • Must be able to work on-site across Nebraska, traveling locally to various farm and ranch locations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a hunger for success and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
  • Sales experience is preferred, however will train the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with or connection to agriculture, farming, or ranching is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable delivering persuasive pitches and closing deals during on-site visits.
  • Coachable, eager to learn, and receptive to feedback.
  • Proactive self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and is driven to take initiative.
  • Self-sufficient and disciplined, with the ability to work independently and achieve results.
  • Looking to grow with the company long-term, not just seeking a typical 9-to-5 job.

 

Compensation: $40k-$50k/year including a base salary and bonuses!
