Marketing Intern
Position Summary
The Marketing Intern position will report directly to the Manager, Brand Marketing. The Marketing Intern will provide support to both the Retail Marketing Team and Brand Marketing Team. The Retail Marketing team manages all needs between the Lip Smacker brand and its retail partners with the goal of driving sales and brand presence/distribution. The Brand Marketing Team manages all social media activities and is responsible for representing the voice of the brand. Meticulous attention to detail and management of deadlines will be required to successfully complete tasks in our fast-paced environment. The Marketing Intern is expected to have a firm understanding of the Lip Smacker brand and consumer, and use it to successfully execute all brand and retail related tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Perform marketing related tasks in support of the Retail and Brand Marketing Teams
- Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams in various stages of marketing initiatives to support sales and brand growth
- Perform other duties as needed and directed by management
Retail Marketing:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date marketing calendars and materials
- Coordinate, organize, and ship out all sample requests for retailers & cross functional teams
- Coordinate and maintain Item Setup including item number requests, ongoing maintenance of display & product specs
- Track and communicate status of projects and make strategic recommendations towards growth and improvement
- Coordinate and conduct competitive in-store analysis to identify key opportunities or gaps in the market
- Interface with all Brand team and cross departmental functions including Creative, Product Development, Social/PR, and Sales to support brand growth
- Perform other duties as needed and directed by management
Brand Marketing:
- Work with the Brand team to execute new product launches, sales materials, presentations as well as new digital programs
- Support with campaign development, management, and analysis
- Maintain a consistent brand voice while assisting with community management across all social media platforms
- Assist the brand team in creating engaging social media content from concept to publishing
- Coordinate and collaborate with Design & Creative teams to gather necessary assets for digital marketing campaigns
- Participate and assist in social media photo/video shoots
- Research and report social media trends and competitor insight for content optimization
- Perform other duties as needed and directed by management
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related marketing experience (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Power Point, Excel and Word
- Knowledge of social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and Pinterest
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a basic understanding of business etiquette in a corporate environment
- Outstanding attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Desire to work in a fast-moving, fun, engaging, and dynamic team environment
- Goal orientated and results driven
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
- Passion for color cosmetics
- Knowledge of Wet n Wild brand
- Team player who participates in company activities and discussions
