Project Manager

We are seeking a Project Manager with an understanding of doors, millwork, architecture, and/or manufacturing to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong business acumen, and the ability to think through systems, scalability, and cascading effects of project decisions. This role requires someone who can analyze architectural drawings, door schedules, hardware specifications, tear sheets, shop drawings, and data sets to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy while also managing project costs, timelines, and supplier/client relationships.

Note: this is a new business that requires individuals who are comfortable working in an entrepreneurial setting with an “all hands on deck” mentality. If you are searching for a standard 9-5 job, this may not be the position for you. We are looking to hire for this position immediately.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Client and Vendor Relationship Communication/Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, designers, general contractors, and other stakeholders by ensuring clear, prompt, and proactive communication.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs (Requests for Information) to resolve project uncertainties in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers of hardware and materials to ensure timely and cost-effective quotes and procurement processes.
  • Work with clients to effectively articulate how/when material choices, hardware specifications/selections, and supplier timelines may affect project cost, scalability, and lead times.

Project Analysis & Systems Thinking

  • Critically evaluate architectural plans, door schedules, and shop drawings to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and/or discrepancies.
  • Consider how decisions at any stage of the project will impact downstream processes; maintain a holistic view of the production workflow, ensuring that changes or adjustments don’t create unintended challenges in manufacturing, delivery, or installation.

Financial Oversight & Business Acumen

  • Track costs, analyze profit margins, and assess the financial viability of projects and project changes.
  • Work closely with the estimating team to evaluate the impact of design modifications and change orders.
  • Ensure that project scopes and pricing decisions align with production capabilities, material costs, and overall profitability.
  • Produce accurate quotes, invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.

Timeline & Documentation Management:

  • Monitor project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met without sacrificing quality.
  • Oversee document control, ensuring that all project details are accurately communicated across departments; maintain comprehensive records of approvals, modifications, change orders, and warranties to track projects from initial proposal to final install.
  • Disseminate communication across relevant teams and stakeholders related to material project changes and/or timelines.
  • Plan and account for the delivery of international goods.
  • Produce hardware submittals and matrixed to be used for quoting, drawing, manufacturing, and ordering purposes.

Project & Design Oversight

  • Oversee the shop drawing process, ensuring that project timelines are strategically planned, effectively prioritized, and consistently executed on or ahead of schedule.
  • Review shop drawings to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Manage and streamline complex workflows across estimating, take-off, design, drafting, and production processes, maintaining clear communication and expectations/workflows between all involved teams.
  • Integrate business strategy with architectural and construction expertise to ensure that projects align with both design intent and operational goals.
  • Leverage digital tools (formula creation in Excel, for example) to optimize data-driven processes, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Produce estimates, takeoffs, and matrices as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, or other CAD software
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, or other management software
  • Proficiency in Excel, and any other relevant project management software.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while managing the smallest of details.
  • An exceptional ability to read architectural drawings/schedules and identify inconsistencies or discrepancies between documents.
  • Proven experience in door design, project management, architectural millwork, or a related construction/manufacturing field.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills—able to understand how one decision impacts other interrelated factors within a project.
  • Sharp business acumen, with the ability to effectively prioritize a variety of variables at once.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • An exceptional communicator capable of engaging with diverse teams and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and collaborative file management.
  • A dedicated professional who is always motivated to do their best work when duty calls, even if it requires working late or on weekends (with bonuses in recognition of this commitment).
  • Bonus: In-depth knowledge of door hardware, best practices related to installation, high-end millwork materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
  • Bonus: Fluency in Spanish and/or Mandarin


 

COMPENSATION

Annual Salary: $85,000 - $90,000
