SQL Engineer
Job Summary
This role will be involved in the daily processes of a manufacturing environment and be able to interpret the data received throughout the processes, responsible for monitoring data input and output in various departments and communicating with the business owners when an issue has been found that can negatively affect our business systems, being involved in the planning process of new system requests to ensure that the requests are mapped out in detail as well as allow the plant to obtain new data that will help the facility make better business decisions.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Interact with plant managers and business owners to help monitor and maintain data input and output accuracy.
- Find and report issues in data systems that need to be reported to the development teams.
- Find and report issues in operator interaction with systems that will negatively impact our data accuracy.
- Communicate with cross department teams to design and submit new system architectures.
- Monitor SQL database tables in the effort of identifying patterns that may assist in the business processes.
- Using SQL, present data in ways in which the plant may be able to utilize the information.
- Using flow chart software, map out new system architecture that will be presented to plant management. These flow charts include system user interface drafts, operator processes, machine interactions, data acquisitions, and any other aspect of the manufacturing process in which data systems are affected.
Skills/Qualifications
Detail oriented with abilities to look at raw data and find patterns. Big picture inclined (able to envision a system from start to end and encapsulate all features and flows). Good communication and presentation abilities.
Education and/or Experience
Technical Bachelor’s Degree:
Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics
