Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemist with a strong emphasis on analytical chemistry to join our research and development team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the analysis and characterization of composite materials, water samples, contaminants, and treatment processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that directly impact public health and environmental sustainability.


Key Responsibilities


• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of materials and composite materials using techniques such as TGA, BET, and others as applicable.
• Evaluate qualitative and quantitative analysis of water samples using advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and spectrophotometry.
• Develop and validate analytical methods to detect and quantify contaminants in water.
• Interpret and analyze data to provide insights into material and composite material structure and make-up, water quality, and treatment efficacy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize water treatment processes.
• Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines for water quality and safety.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Stay current with advancements in analytical chemistry and water treatment technologies.

 

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the water treatment or environmental sectors.
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments and techniques such as Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in writing technical reports and research publications.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Skills and Experience
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments and techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, XPS, SEM/EDX and spectrophotometry.
• Experience with method development and validation.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and technologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines for water quality.
• Masters Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
