Certified Nursing Assistant

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will be responsible for rooming patients, measuring vital signs, checking blood pressure/pulse, chaperone, scribe, clean & stock rooms/supplies.  We do have a 90-day probationary period where we give you and NFC a time to get familiar with our policies and practices, and ensure this is a great fit for both of us.

 

JOB TYPES: Full-time or Part-time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Include but are not limited to):

  • Rooming patients-confirming patient ID
  • Checking blood pressure/pulse
  • Measuring vital signs
  • Scribe notes/creating bills
  • Cleaning and stocking rooms/supplies 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Speaks English fluently (other languages are helpful)
  • Excellent speaking and written communication skills
  • Flexible in hours and duties-ability to multitask
  • Strong people skills to work with a variety of staff and patients
  • Understanding of commitment to HIPAA and providing safe direct patient care
  •  Ability to maintain composure and act professionally to staff and patients

ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:

  • Strong computer skills and willingness/ability to learn online medical programs
  • Scheduling appointments (in-person or by phone)
  • Checking patients in, billing patients, faxing prescriptions and contacting pharmacies
  • Documentation-Billing, scanning documents, obtaining medical prior authorizations
  • Assisting with dictation/scribing of patient visits
  • Organizing supplies and needed paperwork

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the day (be on your feet)
  • Good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
  • Requires good eyesight, hearing and speech (ability to adjust with patients and noise levels)
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to wear masks and gloves for sanitation purposes
  • Exposure to some communicable diseases, viruses, body fluids or toxic substances may occur
  • Ability to work flexible hours, flexible locations (all within 45 miles)
