About the Internship:
This isn't your typical internship. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern at Stord, you'll be a vital part of our operations team, contributing directly to process optimization and impacting key business metrics. You'll gain real-world experience in Lean methodologies, project management, and cross-functional collaboration, all while working on projects that directly affect our customers and the bottom line.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Hands-on Operations (50%): Dive into the daily operations of our fulfillment centers, managing SLA metrics (on-time delivery, productivity, quality, dock-to-stock), collaborating with other departments, and managing a project that directly improves the facility's P&L.
- Project Management (35%): Collaborate with engineering, operations, implementations, and other teams on a Capstone Project focused on improving critical aspects of our business for our customers. You'll lead a DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) project, driving process improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
- Networking (10%): Connect with business leaders across all regions and segments of Stord to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business.
- Professional Development (5%): Participate in webinars focused on professional networking, communication, and presentation skills.

Essential Functions:
- Support and learn daily operational management skills, including team management, productivity tracking, and SLA metric tracking.
- Develop skills and leadership characteristics necessary to operate a team.
- Develop and execute a continuous improvement plan through your Capstone Project, utilizing the DMAIC methodology.
- Identify process gaps, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Assist and lead Lean Assessments and coach process owners on Lean methods.
- Oversee the development and execution of scorecards and KPI action plans.
- Partner with process owners to ensure results are delivered and business priorities are met.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
- Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Experience with Lean methodologies or Six Sigma is a plus.
