Not only do our TCR program participants benefit from this training, The Empowerment Institute partners with businesses, schools, universities, and nonprofits to help them create their own empowered cultures within these organizations.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Individual Donor Relations Manager is a member of TCR’s development team and will play a key role in our fundraising and relationship building efforts to sustain and grow our impact in empowering and employing MN’s diverse workforce. Key duties include: creating and implementing a fundraising plan for individual giving, writing and editing fundraising materials, planning and executing events, and effectively utilizing Salesforce to track and report on donor relationships and progress towards goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee annual giving and mid-level giving programs for donors who give $100-$1,000 annually.
- Oversee fundraising appeals, e-appeals, newsletters, and social media process.
- Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with a portfolio of donors.
- Discover and cultivate donors through email, phone, meetings, and site visits.
- Steward donors through gift recognition, thank you cards, and sharing the TCR story.
- Develop and implement strategies for first-time, lapsed, and recurring donors.
- Develop and implement a plan to acquire new donors to TCR and solicit planned gifts.
- Utilize Salesforce to access and enter donor data, drive strategy and report on goal progress.
- Work closely with development operations staff on data hygiene, reports and dashboards.
- Work collaboratively with Grants Manager on TCR’s grant narratives and sponsorship strategy.
- Work collaboratively with Events Manager to plan and execute donor engagement events.
- Work with the Marketing/Communications team to produce fundraising materials.
- Work with Program team to create and implement a R!SER success story library.
- Work with Director of Development to establish a culture of philanthropy across the org.
- Provide excellent customer service to all donors, prospective donors, and volunteers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A. This position does not provide supervision to any staff.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $66,000 to $80,000 annual salary, depending on qualifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education and Experience
- 5+ years of fundraising experience with an emphasis in individual giving
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills to convey the mission of TCR to donors, funders, board members, and other stakeholders who are important to the org’s fundraising success.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices in the development profession.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to achieve results both individually and with others.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to manage priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication on an interpersonal or group level, including effective listening and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work with a positive outlook in a changing environment, quickly adjusting key priorities in response to the ever-changing dynamics of the organization.
- High degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, discretion, and tact.
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer and other technical resources to effectively accomplish work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to perform the primary duties and responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Demands
- Ability to use a PC/laptop, requiring repetitive motion of fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Required to occasionally move about in an office environment to access file cabinets, printers, etc., and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move about in the community.
- Ability to lift light materials and equipment in the typical office environment (up to 15 pounds).
- Ability to be on video call for all meetings.
Work Environment
- Work schedule: Occasional evenings and/or weekends will be required (workweek will be adjusted accordingly).
- Travel requirements: Position will be expected to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area to attend meetings and other events.
- Must have access to a personal vehicle. Must have a valid, current driver’s license and proof of valid insurance.
- Location/structure of work: Position is hybrid; employee will be expected to work in the TCR office weekly.
