General Purpose/Agency Overview
New Beginnings’ mission is to increase the educational success of children, family members and the community by meeting their needs through the partnerships of educational institutions, community service agencies and the business community.
The IT instructor will help us to achieve our mission by teaching information technology courses to adult students enrolled at New Beginnings. The instructor is responsible for teaching and instructing individuals on various aspects of IT, including computer hardware and software. The IT Instructor is responsible for delivering the COMPTIA Tech+ lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing feedback and support to students. The instructor must stay current with the latest technological trends and developments and incorporate them into their teaching method. The IT instructor must possess a combination of technical expertise, teaching skills, and a passion for technology to be successful in this field.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses: Provide instruction on topics like hardware, software, security, and networking
- Evaluate students: Provide feedback to help students grow and develop
- Mentor students: Advise students on their academic and career goals
- Stay current: Keep up with industry developments and integrate new technologies into courses

- Maintain records: Keep track of student records
- Oversee policies: Ensure policies and procedures are followed
Qualifications
- An associates or higher degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
