Patient Care Representative 

Overview:  

We are seeking a Patient Care Representative that is detailed oriented and customer focused to join our dynamic ophthalmology practice. As a valued member of our practice, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional patient care and smooth clinic operations. Some travel between our Monmouth County locations may be required. 

Responsibilities: 

Extend a warm greeting to patients, ensuring their experience is positive and comfortable. 

Handle incoming calls with professionalism, taking messages, and providing accurate information as needed. 

Efficiently manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish. 

Coordinate appointment scheduling and confirmations, maintaining accuracy and timeliness. 

Verify insurance eligibility and update patient information.  

Collect co-pays and patient payments with precision and courtesy. 

Utilize our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system effectively to maintain accurate patient records. 

Obtain referrals and prior authorizations, ensuring timely access to care. 

Manage confirmation calls and patient recalls supporting continuity of care.  

Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. 

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 

Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records. 

Prior experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred. 

Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. 

Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and scheduling procedures is a plus 

Education Requirement: High School Diploma 

Work Schedule:  

8:30AM-5:00PM; Flexibility is key, with occasional availability required on Saturdays and evenings.
