Camp Enrichment Program Intern

The One Planet summer camp serves the 8 elementary schools of WRVSU, grades K-6 from Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Each week offers campers thematic enrichment programming, exciting field trips to some of our region's best destinations, as well as classic summer camp activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, and time to relax with friends.

Enrichment Program Intern is responsible for designing and implementing high-quality enrichment programming to campers. Programming will be based around a weekly theme chosen by Director and Site Coordinator.

Qualifications/Essential Duties:

  1. Applicant must be majoring in Education or related field
  2. Design, teach, and lead excellent enrichment programming with minimal supervision
  3. Supervise children both inside and outside.
  4. Provide a safe, caring, environment
  5. Remain in close proximity to children at all times
  6. Foster healthy relationships among children
  7. Provide positive role modeling
  8. Remain on task and focused on student needs for up to 3 hours at a time

 

This position is part of a cohort of 12 interns working with organizations that support the White River Valley Community Schools. Funded by the UVM Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships, free housing for interns will be provided at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT. Interns will participate in a week-long community orientation, weekly intern cohort workshops for professional development, networking, and reflection and a final sharing event on Monday, August 4, 5:30-7 pm.
