Design Technician

DESIGN TECHNICIAN As a Design Technician, you are responsible for coordinating the design development, production, and delivery of project drawings as a member of the project design team. Assignments require independent action and decision making. With preliminary direction from senior staff, complete or modify architectural documents ensuring the incorporation of design intent. Understands and translates design intent into technical documents. Assist the project team to ensure that documentation for all project phases conforms to quality assurance/quality control and Best Practice Standards. Apply proper quality assurance/quality control protocols. Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings. Assure document standards are followed, including file management processes, naming conventions, archiving, timesheet completion, etc. Foster a commitment to external and internal client service. May assist the team in construction administration and document management. May assist with site surveys/premises assessments and require the use of associated tools. • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD. • Basic Proficiency in Revit and BIM preferred. • Basic Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems. • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to effectively meet deadlines. • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience preferred. • 0 to 4 years of experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required. • Enthusiastic team player and productive self-driven professional. • Must have great time management skills. • Must be able to function in an office environment with extended periods of computer use. • May require travel and overnight visits and must be able to climb ladders. • Overtime may be required.
