Instructional Design Intern

This position will be a part of our IN-PERSON L.E.A.D. Summer 2024 Internship Program located in Strongsville, Ohio.

OVERVIEW

We help our interns Learn about the corporate landscape, Educate them on the mortgage industry, encourage them to Achieve their goals and help Develop their leadership skills. As an Intern Partner, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience in the various fields of an award-winning mortgage company. You’ll work hard, have fun and gain skills that will allow you to take on the world. Our interns are treated like full-time Partners who work 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

Some of the programs we offer include: shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects and we even take our interns on corporate outings! Our internship program gives students a chance to meet new people, gain more experience, and learn from the best in the business!

This position will be responsible for working alongside the training team to design and develop world class training for Partners across the country. The role will require a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Captivate in order to create new eLearning as well as reference documents for training purposes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Assisting in the design and development of courses utilizing eLearning software
  • Work effectively with department managers and SME’s across the organization to create training and to maintain its accuracy
  • Adding audio and animation edits to eLearning
  • Editing, development and formatting of guides, checklists, or other reference documents for Partners to utilize in their day-to-day work flows
  • Redacting of documents for training purposes
  • Convert old training programs from instructor led trainings to self-paced modules
  • Independent training through UHM’s internal LMS as well as external training to stay up to date on new eLearning technologies
  • Quality control testing of new courses for grammar, punctuation, as well as functionality of the eLearning
  • Participate in weekly training huddle meetings
  • Other duties as assigned to support the training department

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Skilled at multi-tasking and keeping organized
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with strict time deadlines
  • Professional phone, email, chat and screen-sharing skills
  • Positive attitude, optimistic outlook and willingness to be part of a team
  • Quick to learn new technologies and applications for creating eLearning
  • Willingness to learn and train independently

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Pursuing a 2-year or 4-year college degree in English, Technical/Creative Writing, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Adobe Captivate Prime or other Learning Management Systems a plus
  • Understanding of Adobe Captivate, Camtasia or other eLearning applications a plus
