Summary/Objective:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist manages incoming payments, properly tracking them into the system to maintain accurate accounting records.
Classification:
Non-exempt (eligible for overtime); Hybrid Schedule- 3 days in office and 2 days work from home
Location: New York, NY
Essential function/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following
- Prepare receivable collection report
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Maintain electronic accounts receivable customer files and records
- Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
- Prepare bank deposits
- Perform deposit accounting after move-out
- Process adjustments
- Maintain up-to-date billing system
- Special projects and reporting as needed
- Producing monthly financial and management reports
- Assisting in general financial management and analysis
Requirements:
- Must have an Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or a related field.
- Must have 2-5 years’ experience in real estate accounting.
- Must possess at least 2 years of accounts receivable specialist experience.
- Prior work experience in an office environment.
- Experience with LIHTC (Experience with Section 8 financed properties a PLUS).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Experience with Yardi software preferred.
- Ability to ensure accuracy in job delivery.
- Ability to properly organize and prioritize tasks, as well as office environment.
- Honest, dependable, punctual and hardworking.
- Must be able to work with a team.
- Excellent follow-up skills.
- Pays close attention to details.
- Able to meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
Salary Range: $60,000-65,000
