ABC News Publicity Intern, Summer/Fall 2025
About the Role & Program:
As the ABC News Publicity intern, you will assist the publicity team in the day-to-day operations of the news media relations department.
As the ABC News Publicity department, we handle all communication efforts for ABC News programs and platforms, including “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Good Morning America,” “Nightline,” “20/20,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” “The View,” “Tamron Hall,” “GMA3,” ABC News Live, ABC News Studios, ABC News Digital, ABC News Audio and ABC NewsOne.
What You Will Do:
- Compile and edit daily press clips, reporter media lists and correspondent, anchor and executive bios
- Maintain social media accounts, creatively disseminating information and press about the ABC News programs and platforms
- Assist awards submissions and track guest RSVPs
- Write press releases, loglines and manage weekly status reports and highlights documents
- Assist during virtual and in-person events (may include some evenings and weekends)
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and publicity strategy meetings and handle other administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills working with colleagues across departments at all levels
- Hardworking, proactive, eager to learn and willing to tackle new challenges
- Curious with attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Canva
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous media/PR internship experience or an internship within a related field
- Existing knowledge of and curiosity about the television business
Education:
- Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in communications, journalism or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Availability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship. Typically, 9am-5pm EST, Monday - Friday. Possibility of working nights and weekends.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, NY area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025- January 2026
