A day in the life:
- Identify the needs, goals and objectives of facility construction projects.
- Collaborate with senior management and consultants to understand the need for the construction and remodeling of facilities.
- Determine project budget, initial schedule and project strategy using electronic tools and templates.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Office to develop and manage contracts.
- Negotiate contracts and fees, oversee contract performance, ensure milestones are met, process payments and make necessary amendments for successful project completion.
- Review work completed by internal and external partners to ensure that the agency and state's goals and objects are met.
- Evaluate project schedules to identify critical paths, define and develop project tasks, timelines and milestones.
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the life of the project.
- Participate as a member of the planning team to provide input and updates to all parties involved in the construction process.
- Act as a liaison between various committees and groups to ensure compliance and understanding of projects.
- Work in an office environment with the potential of hybrid work options available after training. Frequent project site visits and occasional overnight travel required.

Minimum qualifications:
Six years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept.
OR
An associate degree (or comparable course work) in architectural, construction or engineering technology; AND four and one-half years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept;
OR
A bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, public administration, architecture, planning or engineering; AND three years of progressively responsible experience related to the class series concept;
Special qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

- A current and valid project management professional (PMP) certification or certified construction manager (CCM) certification is preferred.
- Education in project management, construction project management, engineering or architecture.
- Experience setting project timelines, milestones, goals and objectives for internal and external business partners.
- A proven track record of navigating public procurement rules, policies and procedures.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products and electronic file management.
- Strong knowledge of statewide and local building codes, rules, regulations and policies.
