Summer Internship in Testing and Certification
Position Summary:
Our internships provide students a great opportunity to apply the knowledge they have gained in the classroom. Students can also be expected to learn from the industry's top professionals in the areas of Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management and many more.
This internship is paid, full time and for 3 months in the upcoming summer. We are located in Fort Worth, Texas and do not offer any sort of relocation or housing assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Assist with day to day laboratory activities, including test setup and break down, test article transportation and storage, and test data evaluation.
- Review and become familiar with certification requirements and applications for aircraft seating and interiors.
- Design and build up of custom test fixturing
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma and 5S practices while helping improve processes within the lab.
- Shadowing certification, / test engineers and test technician during daily work
- Job shadowing and other various tasks as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completed courses related to Static / Dynamic Mechanical Systems, Material Science and Kinematics.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Experience with programming, automation and electrical disciplines.
- Organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency and sensitivity to deadlines, and detail-oriented style are required.
- Self-starting individual showing eagerness to learn is a must.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
