Natural Resources Intern
The City is hiring a Natural Resources Intern to assist with ecological restoration, water quality projects, and monitoring natural resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control invasive plant species using various techniques, including herbicide application (training provided).
- Conduct water quality monitoring and collect natural resources data.
- Maintain raingardens and native plant demonstration gardens.
- Occasionally assist with planting, seeding, and volunteer engagement.
- Operate a City pickup truck for work tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license or eligibility for a Minnesota license.
- Preferred: Enrolled in or completed a degree in natural resources, environmental science, biology, or a related field. Experience in invasive species control, landscaping, or water quality monitoring is a plus.
Work Conditions:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including weekends and holidays.
