Recreational Therapist
The Recreational Therapist provides individual and group therapeutic recreational services to patients as referred to address functional deficits. The Recreational Therapist screens patients, provides functional assessments, develops goals and modalities for patient treatment plans, and provides direct services for individuals and groups of patients. They also communicate with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of the geriatric population. The Recreational Therapist documents and reports patient progress to the treatment team. As needed, the Recreational Therapist assists in training, orienting, and evaluating the performance of recreational therapy interns and volunteers.
